No, there is no charge per kilometer. If you drive more that 10,000 kilometers, you will have to pay for a service on the car. If you bring the car back to Stichting Hand to do this then, at this moment, that costs 45 Euros. If you decided to have another garage do the service, you are liable to pay all the costs.
Some cars have a tow ball, but not all of them. We would like to know, when you are filling in the form, if you intend to tow a caravan, as not all of the cars are licensed to do this.
If you desire to drive outside of Holland, you must state this on the car form when you request a loan car so that we can plan you in for a car that is suitable. This is because some countries (e.g. Germany, which you almost always cross when going abroad) require winter tyres and we need to know where and when you are going outside of Holland. We do not have winter tyres for all of the cars.
You can cancel your reservation with no charge up to two months before the date that you had promised to pick up the car. After that, there will be a charge for a one month period, if we are not able to loan the car out to another missionary. The costs that you pay cover only the cost that we make on the cars, hence when you are using the car all the costs are covered. If the car is sitting at the mission here, we must pay the cost out of the gifts that come to the mission.
Yes, please, as there maybe a change in your request. For example, maybe your family has increased in number or maybe you are going outside of Holland this time. Any information that you can give when filling in the form helps us in planning a car for you.
You are required to leave a bond of 350 euro. This bond money will be returned to you when the car comes back in the same condition as it left. Also you will need to pay a monthly charge of 170 euro (at the most). This covers standard car insurance and passenger insurance. Also road tax, administration costs, maintenance costs and roadside assistance are included in this charge. If you drive more than 10,000 kilometers, you’ll have to pay service costs of 45 euro.
